Learn how you can help save lives and bring us closer to a cure for cancer by supporting John Wayne Cancer Institute.

John Wayne Cancer Institute at Saint John's Health CenterJohn Wayne was tough and he always put up a good fight. The fight against cancer is equally tough. In John Wayne’s honor, the researchers at the John Wayne Cancer Institute (JWCI) put up a good fight every day. They are all dedicated to the understanding and curing of cancer. Our physicians collaborate with researchers all around the world, striving to eliminate patient suffering worldwide and find a cure for cancer in our lifetime.

How can you help?

Our researchers are developing ways to detect cancer in a single drop of blood. They’re using minimally invasive surgeries to safely remove brain tumors. None of this could be accomplished without the individuals and companies who support us.

Individual Supporters:

  • Enjoy volunteering?  The John Wayne Cancer Institute has several public events each year, and the hard work and commitment of JWCI volunteers help to make each one a success.
  • Make a Gift:  John Wayne Cancer Institute practices translational research, which means research that is used to directly help patients.  By donating to JWCI, you become a part of this exciting work.  You’ll help our researchers continue to identify revolutionary therapies that save lives and bring us closer to a cure for cancer.

While there are many ways to donate, one of the best ways to donate is to give through your workplace, or if you are a Federal employee you can participate in the Combined Federal Campaign. When you give at work, you provide JWCI with a stable stream of unrestricted financial support that we can count on all year long to do things like operate our organization and provide our scientists with the resources they need to conduct research.  Plus, having your donation deducted from your paycheck throughout the year through workplace giving is financially more manageable for most people, making it possible for you to donate a larger amount and have a greater impact.  Click here to learn how to give through your workplace -giving program or through the Combined Federal Campaign.
